Who I Am
Mohammad Nahidul Hasan is an independent author and essayist. His work explores the intersection of food systems, human behavior, psychology, money, society, consciousness, technology, travel and everyday life.
Rather than offering simplistic productivity formulas or motivational slogans, his writing approaches contemporary life as a series of interlocking, often invisible architectures that guide human decision-making without our conscious consent.
What I Write About
My work is centered around several core thematic inquiries:
- Food & Transparency: Investigating industrial supply chains, agricultural consolidation, and how supermarket logistics obscure our relationship with soil and nourishment.
- Behavioral Psychology & Habit: Examining how environmental architecture, digital nudges, and unconscious defaults dictate eighty percent of our daily routines.
- Money & The Philosophy of 'Enough': Interrogating positional status games, consumerism, and the reclamation of unallocated time.
- Mind & Consciousness: Exploring attention in the algorithmic era, the value of sustained solitude, and the preservation of human interiority.
- Travel & Urban Geography: Walking through distant cities to understand how physical space influences social contracts and personal identity.
Why I Write
Writing, for me, is not a broadcast mechanism; it is an investigative discipline. When we slow down enough to examine a default setting—whether it is what is on our dinner plate, why we check a glowing rectangle seventy times a day, or how we measure professional success—we begin to recover our agency.
“The greatest danger of the modern age is not that bad systems exist, but that they become so seamless that we forget they were ever designed.”
Current Research & Forthcoming Work
I am currently completing work on The Invisible Machine: How Hidden Systems Shape Our Food, Thoughts, and Desires, a book-length investigation into the unseen infrastructures that script 21st-century human existence.
Alongside long-form books, I regularly publish essays in the Writing section, produce video essays in the Video Library, and document observations from global walking journeys in the Travel Journal.
